dragonfly logo design
Marada and her daughter are circus performers and they came to me as they had recently changed their business name to Dragonfly Circus, so they needed a new logo designed.

Dragonfly Circus is based in Brisbane, Australia. Rada is a costume designer where she has designed for films, TV, theatre, ballet, opera and circuses all over the world. Their circus acts are diverse, ranging from puppet shows to arial silk displays which are very elaborate, and this is what they wanted portrayed in the new logo.

They initially sent me pictures of them performing with details about them both and their act.

The logo was mainly going to be used in promotional material such as flyers and posters so it was going to have to work at all sizes, monocrome and inverted. Key words that I could work with that came with the brief were entertaining, elaborate, ornate and flamboyant.

Once there was an initial couple of desgin ideas they liked I went about converting the sketches in to graphics in Adobe Illustrator.

They really liked this design of a trapeze couple hanging from a dragonfly. I then went about refining the design and trying out different fonts that I felt would work with the design.

We eventually decided on the font Savouy which we felt really complemented the design well.

When we were both happy with the result I sent over the final .esp files in different finishes that they required.

Since completing the project we have been in contact as they required different file formats sent which I was more than happy to help with.

Client Testimonial

"Adam was recommended to me by a friend to make my business logo. I gave him a brief description of our business and he went ahead and came up with some ideas. The picture he came up with, with the dragonfly tail being used like a set of silks, was exactly perfect for what we wanted. It's classy and fun, so can be used for our corporate work as well as for our work at festivals... "
